Arizona has nine congressional districts. Democrats hold a 5-4 edge. Unanimously approved by the state's independent commission, the new map is a bit more favorable for Republicans in the near term. However, Cook Political's David Wasserman notes that "Democrats have longer-term upside in Phoenix and Tucson seats trending their way." Democrat Tom O'Halleran (now AZ-2) looks particularly endangered this year as his already GOP-leaning area was made notably redder in redistricting.
