States that have voted for the same party in 4 consecutive presidential elections
By sweeping what we today think of as battleground states, Barack Obama easily won the 2008 presidential election. Several of those states reverted to Republicans in 2012 and/or 2016. However, four states (Virginia, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico), worth 34 electoral votes as of 2024, have voted Democratic since 2008.
