States that have voted for the same party in 5 consecutive presidential elections
By sweeping that year's battleground states, Barack Obama easily won the 2008 presidential election. Several of those states reverted to Republicans in 2012 and/or 2016.
However, three states (Virginia, Colorado, and New Mexico), worth 28 electoral votes as of 2024, have voted Democratic since 2008. Nevada was also part of this list until Donald Trump won it in 2024.
