As with every incumbent winning a 2nd term, except Wilson in 1916 and Obama in 2012, Bill Clinton was re-elected with more electoral votes in the 1996 presidential election than in his first term. However, Georgia and Montana flipped Republican that year. Montana has gone that way since; Georgia broke the streak when it voted for Joe Biden in 2020.
