The new map is little-changed from the one in place for the last decade. That could prove to be a mistake as Democrats, who controlled the process, did not take the opportunity to shore up the somewhat less blue District 2. Given the overall environment, and the retirement of 11 term incumbent Jim Langevin, the district appears to be in play this year.
