2022 California House Election Interactive Map

All US House seats to be contested in 2022

Redistricting: Loss of one seat. Toggle between 'Consensus Forecast' and 'Current House' to see how the map has changed.

For the first time in its history, California is losing a congressional district. However, its 52 districts are still the most in the nation. Despite a GOP gain of three seats in 2020, Democrats dominate the delegation, holding 42 seats.

Two Los Angeles area Democrats were redistricted together into the new 42nd district; both are retiring. As a result, the loss of a district is not forcing two incumbents to fight for the same seat. Overall, the map, created by an independent commission, appears to be slightly more favorable to Democrats.
