A brief recap of elections held May 6, 2025.

Ohio Infrastructure Ballot Measure

By a more than 2-1 margin, voters approved a renewal of this measure authorizing state government to issue up to $2.5 billion in general obligation bonds to assist local governments in paying for public infrastructure projects.

Cincinnati Mayor (Primary)

Mayor Aftab Pureval (D) won over 80% of the vote in the non-partisan primary. Finishing second was Cory Bowman (R), the half-brother of Vice President JD Vance.

Pureval will be seeking to win a second term in the November general election.

Toledo Mayor (Primary)

Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz (D) and Roberto Torres (I) advanced to November's general election. While the incumbent finished well ahead of Torres, it is notable that he only won a narrow majority of the total three-way vote.
