Vote counts and race projections by Decision Desk HQ.
Monday evening, AZ-06 was called for Republican Juan Ciscomani, who was reelected for a second term. That win gives the GOP 218 seats, ensuring they will retain their majority when the 119th Congress begins in January.
Earlier in the day, CO-08 was called for Republican Gabe Evans, who defeated freshman Democrat Yadira Caraveo.
Eight House races remain uncalled. Seven are in California, one in Alaska.
In California, Tuesday is the final day for ballots to arrive and be counted, assuming they were postmarked by Election Day. The state is very slow at counting (this is not new), so it is unclear when those races will be called.
In Alaska, there probably won't be a race call until the ranked choice tabulation on November 20.
House of Representatives
At publication time of this article, Republicans lead 218-209 in elections where a winner has been projected.
The embedded counter above will change from 218-209 as more races are called, and you will see those winners highlighted in the embedded results below.
A breakdown of the party holding each of the ten remaining races follows. Incumbents are running in all but CA-47.
Democrats: AK-AL, CA-09, CA-21, CA-47
Republican: CA-13, CA-27, CA-41, CA-45
Thus far, 13 seats have flipped, with a net gain of one for Republicans. Seven incumbents have been defeated. See the Changing Parties table >
Senate
Republicans claimed the majority by flipping the open seat in West Virginia and defeating incumbent Democrats in Montana and Ohio. The party will hold at least 52 seats in January.
While The Associated Press (AP) has called that race for Republican David McCormick, they have not yet been joined by Decision Desk HQ or some other organizations that make projections.
Assuming AP ultimately has it right on Pennsylvania, the final 2024 result will be a net gain of four seats for the GOP, giving it a 53-47 partisan edge.
