Democrat Rita Hart has abandoned her effort to unseat Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks. Hart lost November's election in Iowa's Second District by just 6 votes. Miller-Meeks was seated in January with the new Congress. However, Hart appealed to the House Administration Committee, asking that she be declared the winner based on 22 ballots that were not counted by election officials.
