Republican Sen. Roy Blunt is retiring. The party's nominee is Attorney General Eric Schmitt who is favored to succeed Blunt in this deep red state.
These elections will be contested using redistricted boundaries. All eight seats look to be safe for the incumbent party. This includes new Republicans in Districts 4 and 7, where Vicky Hartzler and Billy Long retired in unsuccessful bids for U.S. Senate.
Republicans hold a large 24-10 margin over Democrats in the Missouri State Senate. Members serve four-year staggered terms; the even-numbered districts are being contested in 2022.
Republicans dominate the Missouri House of Representatives with a 107-48 edge over Democrats. There are eight vacancies. Members serve two-year terms.
