Wisconsin Gubernatorial Primaries

Republican Gov. Scott Walker is seeking a third term in 2018; a large field of Democrats is competing on the ballot today for the opportunity to challenge him. Polling indicates that Tony Evers, the superintendent of the state's schools, is leading the field. However, most of these surveys had a large number of undecided voters.

Most forecasters have Walker as a small favorite to win in November.

Wisconsin Senate Primary

Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin is seeking a 2nd term; she is unopposed in the primary. There's a closely-contested primary on the GOP side: State Senator Leah Vukmir faces off against businessman Kevin Nicholson. Polling thus far gives Baldwin a double-digit lead against either Republican in the general election.

Wisconsin House Primaries

The first district is the one to watch here, as Speaker Paul Ryan is not standing for reelection. On the Democratic side, early frontrunner Randy Bryce aka 'Iron Stache' appears to be in a competitive primary with Janesville school board member Cathy Myers. Several candidates are competing for the GOP nomination. Ryan has endorsed Bryan Steil, a former aide. The general election is seen as toss-up to leans Republican.

Incumbents are running in the state's other seven congressional districts. The 6th has a chance to be competitive, but otherwise these members of Congress are expected to keep their jobs for another two years.
