Governor
Safe Republican
Republican Gov. Pete Ricketts is completing his second term; he is ineligible to run due to term limits. His likely successor is fellow Republican businessman Jim Pillen.
U.S. House

These elections will be conducted using redistricted boundaries. Omaha-area District 2 is the only competitive race. Three-term incumbent Don Bacon is being challenged by state Sen. Tony Vargas.
State Senate
Unique among the 50 states, Nebraska has a unicameral (single chamber) State Legislature. Members are called Senators. While officially nonpartisan, political affiliation is known. There are 32 Republicans and 17 Democrats. Members serve four-year staggered terms; the 24 evenly-numbered districts are up for election this year.
U.S. Senate
No 2022 election. It is possible that Sen. Ben Sasse resigns in the weeks ahead to become president of the University of Florida. The timing may be such that the interim Senator will be appointed by the successor to Gov. Pete Ricketts. It is quite possible that new Senator will be - wait for it - Pete Ricketts.
In any case, if Sasse does resign, there will be a special election in 2024 to complete the final two years of the term. Nebraska's other Senate seat, held by Republican Deb Fischer, will also be on the 2024 ballot for a regular six-year term.
